Scheduled Events

Event 1: Stakeholder workshop

Indicative schedule: May 2021

Host: Tampere University

Brief Description

The Stakeholder Workshop will concentrate on the presentation of the BLE specification for its validation. This event will have the form of a combination of seminar and workshop where the BLE platform and the opportunities it offers are FIRST to be presented to the various stakeholders (also through the use of the produced mockup). SECOND a structured discussion is to be moderated by the event organizers and the results of this discussion shall for the first stage validation data. THIRD a validation survey is to be completed by the event participants.

Event 2: Demonstration of the BIM-enabled Learning Environment

Indicative schedule: May 2022

Host: Tallinn University of Technology

Brief Description

This event will demonstrate the BIM-enabled Learning Environment (BLE) (developed as Intellectual Output O2) using the learning resources (Intellectual Output O3) and the pilot modules (Intellectual Output O4) that have been developed for it. Participants will mainly be learners and teachers but the event will also involve other stakeholders (program directors, industry representatives). It has multiple objectives as follows:

– To raise awareness of the BENEDICT project and demonstrate the value of its results.

– To raise awareness of the BIM-enabled learning concept and the benefits it can bring to construction education and the REC industry as a whole.

– To enable participants to experience for themselves the immersive and integrated learning that the BLE enables.

– To demonstrate how the BLE enables real, industry project data to be used for creating rich, meaningful and deep learning experiences.

– To test the BLE and its pilot content on a real, live audience and elicit their feedback about it with the intention of continuously improving the BLE and its content.

Event 3: Validation workshop

Indicative schedule: March 2023

Host: University of Bologna

Brief Description

This event is aimed at validating the overall BLE solution and documentation (promotional material, guidelines, handbooks and manuals) for disseminating and using the BIM Enabled Learning Environment BLE. The primary target group is teaching staff (teachers of HEI institutes and trainers of private companies) who will potentially use the BLE and who will also promote the concept of BIM-enabled construction education towards their own target group such as university faculty or more generally towards the Real Estate and Construction (REC) sector. Other stakeholders (including students) will also attend this event.

Event 4: Training Activity-Training to use the BLE

Indicative schedule: June 2023

Host: Tallinn University of Technology

Brief Description

The goal of this intensive training activity is to entrench BIM-enabled learning through the use of the BLE and its derivatives in learning activities in the partner institutions and throughout the REC sector. The training itself will ensure that the trainees understand the BIM-enabled learning concept and are able to fully utilise the BLE (together with its content) to support their teaching and training activities. It will also act as a catalyst for establishing and encouraging the formation of a super-user group of BLE users who will have the network, interest and enthusiasm to take forward the possibilities of BIM-enabled learning beyond the project funding period.

The training event will also serve to immediately raise the profile of the BENEDICT project and its results. Promotion of the activity as well as the activity itself will serve to raise the profile of the project and also to introduce the results of the project in detail to a wider audience of users and, through these users and their networks, to further, potential users. By training and encouraging this group of BLE users, the available content hosted on the BLE will grow exponentially and expand beyond the university sphere and the project countries.
